Tearlaments

Despite the multiple limitations imposed by the banlist, Tearlaments manages to win the German Open, even with Agido the Ancient Sentinel and Kelbek the Ancient Vanguard banned. The absence of these cards allowed for mixing previous deck versions, incorporating both King of the Swamp and Guardian Chimera, as well as the Destiny HERO/Horus package with the addition of Unchained Soul of Shyama, albeit without Baronne de Fleur. Despite the reduced RNG factor, the deck proves to be sufficiently linear, leading to guaranteed end boards.

R-ACE / Fire King

The proposed version today is one of those spicy concoctions, akin to a dish crafted in the Michelin-starred kitchens, seamlessly blending Fire King and R-ACE, the tier 1 contenders of the current format. This list ingeniously incorporates the essential engines of both decks, identifying the cohesive points between the two engines to maximize their potential, alongside expanding the main deck count to a robust 50 cards.

With the inclusion of the Diabellstar and Snake-Eye Package, as well as Circle of the Fire Kings and One for One, this deck undergoes a significant surge in its ceiling, enabling it to adapt as a pseudo-combo deck, amplifying its pushing power when going second and capable of overturning any opposing board state. This innovative fusion not only enhances the deck’s flexibility but also adds layers of strategic depth, elevating its gameplay to new heights in the competitive scene.

Branded Despia

In a meta where Hand-Traps seem to lose their edge against the dominance of Board Breakers, Branded Despia resurfaces like a phoenix from its ashes, making a triumphant return to the competitive scene. The proposed version, known as the Deep Draw variant, incorporates strategic elements like Allure of Darkness and 3 copies of Albion the Shrouded Dragon.

These additions not only serve as extenders, such as Albion the Shrouded Dragon’s ability to send Branded Retribution or Allure’s capacity to banish Tragedy or Mercourier, but also enhance the deck’s consistency by drawing impactful cards like Forbidden Droplet and Super Polymerization, which hold significant sway in the current format.

Furthermore, the proposed list includes Gimmick Puppet Nightmare in the main deck. Once the combo to summon it is resolved, special summoning it on the opponent’s field with the assistance of Albion the Sanctifire Dragon, it effectively restricts the opponent’s ability to Special Summon monsters due to its lingering effect, which persists even after the card leaves the field. This strategic inclusion not only adds depth to the deck’s gameplay but also provides disruptive potential, further solidifying Branded Despia’s resurgence as a formidable contender in the evolving metagame.
