Salamangreat
Despite its modest representation in the weekly meta, we couldn’t overlook a deck that emerged victorious in the 2nd largest tournament played, Salamangreat, led by Low Weng Fong with 168 participants.
EM:P Gremeowde from Phantom Nightmare proves to be an excellent extender and a potential disruption that synergizes well with the deck’s strategy of re-linking its monsters using Salamangreat Sanctuary or sending them to the graveyard in the opponent’s turn, utilizing the first effect of Salamangreat Rage.
Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flame from Phantom Nightmare adds another extender to the deck, making it even more aggressive when going second. Additionally, its graveyard effect synergizes with Salamangreat Weasel, a key card in the deck’s primary lines of play.
The aforementioned Salamangreat Weasel also enables a lock with Kaiser Colosseum, preventing the opponent from placing monsters on their field. To avoid these monsters crashing during the battle phase, the second effect of Salamangreat Sanctuary is utilized, creating a deadlock situation for the opponent.

Fire King
Fire King once again proves itself as the undisputed Tier 1 deck of the week, securing the first position at the China City Tour 2023 in Zhongshan with 350 players. The deck appears to have found its optimal ratios, except for the count of Fire King Sanctuary and Fire King Island, which are often listed as 2x and 1x in many decks.

R-ACE
As the meta evolves, R-Ace undergoes modernization, enhancing its deck consistency by incorporating cards like Snake-Eyes Populus and Bonfire into the main deck.
Bonfire synergizes with Snake-Eyes Populus, which can be specially summoned through its effect, adding a copy of Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye.
This combination allows the summoning of Rescue-ACE Hydrant from the deck, creating an efficient one-card combo.
Additionally, the second effect of Snake-Eyes Populus enables placing Rescue-ACE Hydrant in the Spell/Trap zone as a continuous spell, facilitating the resolution of both effects of the Rescue S/T cards.
It’s noteworthy that the Rescue-ACE Impulse package has been included in the side deck, signaling a shift in the meta regarding the deck building of R-Ace.
This emphasizes a focus on the deck’s consistency.
