Fire King

The Year of the Fire Rooster proceeds unabated, and the showcased deck remains largely unchanged, with the exception of the noteworthy inclusion of Cosmic Cyclone in the side deck. This addition serves the strategic purpose of countering Fire King and other decks when going second, specifically by targeting Fire King Island. This tactical move aims to diminish the opponent’s interactions effectively.

Droll & Lock Bird, as well as Nibiru, the Primal Being, initially represented in the deck, have either been entirely removed from the main deck or reduced to singular copies, now serving as potential targets for cards like Crossout Designator. This adjustment reflects a nuanced shift in the deck’s approach, highlighting a conscious effort to optimize card choices and adapt to the evolving dynamics of the current metagame.

R-ACE

R-ACE, similarly unchanged, closely follows the trajectory of Fire King, with the exception of a noteworthy inclusion of Cosmic Cyclone in the main deck. This addition appears to have become the weekly trend. Additionally, a new card has been introduced to the extra deck:

Moon of the Closed Sky [FIEND / LINK / EFFECT] 2 Effect Monsters / ATK 1200

You can target 1 face-up opponent’s monster this card points to; this turn, if you Link Summon a Link-5 monster using this card you control as material, you can also use that opponent’s monster as material. You can only use this effect of “Moon of the Closed Sky” once per turn.

Moon of the Closed Sky seems to be a highly advantageous Link monster to summon Underworld Goddess of the Closed World,  it could potentially become a new addition as an extra deck staple in many decks. This strategic incorporation further demonstrates the adaptability and ongoing evolution of deck choices in response to emerging metagame trends.

Snake-Eye

Snake-Eye appears to be the most trending deck after Fire King, judging by its representation in the top cut of recent tournaments. The proposed version opts out of Jet Synchron, aiming to enhance the deck’s stability by adding a third copy of Snake-Eyes Populus. Additionally, it incorporates Nibiru, the Primal Being, and Droll & Lock Bird as singular copies, strategically serving as potential targets for Crossout Designator.

This deck’s approach acknowledges the prevailing trend of increasing the number of Snake-Eyes in recent deck versions, allowing them to effectively navigate around these hand-traps. However, these hand-traps, particularly when combined with others like Effect Veiler, Infinite Impermanence, and Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, still pose a potential challenge. This nuanced adaptation showcases the deck’s effort to find a balance between consistency and resilience in the face of evolving metagame dynamics

Conclusion

In the recent Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments, Fire King, R-ACE, and Snake-Eye emerged as prominent contenders, each showcasing unique strategies and adaptations.
Fire King demonstrated resilience with strategic side deck choices,
while R-ACE incorporated the trending Cosmic Cyclone and introduced a potentially game-changing extra deck card, Moon of the Closed Sky.
Snake-Eye, the trending deck of the week, displayed adaptability by omitting Jet Synchron and optimizing hand-trap choices.
As the metagame evolves, these decks offer a glimpse into the dynamic landscape of competitive play.
